7.68m Free Standing Trapeze Rig

small logo

The free-standing rig has been very popular, seen at Trafalgar Square on several occasions. This is Ampitheatre of the Arts performing for the Liberty Festival 2004.

This trapeze rig is a 7.68m free-standing portique; like a huge goal post from which to hang the trapezes and ropes from. It can be reduced to 6.68m and we also have a larger 10m portique.

This unique rig is ideal for street locations, indoor spaces or confined spaces where staking out is impossible. Importantly, because of the square base design, the area beneath the rig is completely free. Small mats or plywood boards can be used to protect the surface it is placed on.

The structure is made of QuatraLite, a very light but strong alloy construction made by Lite Structures Ltd., Wakefield. The whole rig dismantles into 5m sections. This makes the rig easily transportable. Two poles are used to form the front and back of the square base. Two cross-wires and two straight wires at the front and at the back stabilise the rig. All Health and Safety regulations are met and the rig and all rigging equipment is regularly inspected by LGH, London.

The base of the rig is 5m x 5.8m and there nothing which extends beyond this area. However, in setting up, an area 6m x 10m is needed as the rig is laid out on the floor. Setting-up time is 90 minutes and striking time is 60 minutes. We come as a team of three people in a van, set up the rig and a professional rigger remains on-site throughout.

The Rig is availabe for hire nationwide. Also available for hire is a PA system, which can be suspended (the trapeze rig has optional side wings from which they can hang) or pole mounted.

Further details and information about hiring this rig is available on request.
